Prima Limited

Prima Limited is a Singapore-based company founded in 1961[1][2], following the Singapore Government’s encouragement of foreign investments in its industrialisation programme[3][4]. It was the first flour mill in Malaya (pre-independence of Singapore), and one of the pioneer flour millers in Southeast Asia[5]The mill was a historical turning point for Singapore and the region as it heralded the beginning of locally milled flour replacing imported flour.

Over the years, Prima Limited has grown over the years to become an international industrial group with a strong and respected name in the food industry.[3]

International presence

Prima Limited currently has flour mills in Singapore, Sri Lanka and the People’s Republic of China[6][7][8][9]. The company has built an international reputation for consistent, high quality wheat flour, bakery premixes, improvers, wheat bran and pollard[10]

Stringent quality assurance has been the hallmark of Prima Limited, as evidenced by the achievement of the ISO 9002 certification in 1993 for the flour mill in Singapore, the first flour mill in Southeast Asia to receive such a certification[11]. Today, the mill is accredited with the latest quality and food safety certifications including FSSC 22000, HACCP and ISO 9001:2005.
