Prince Adewole Ebenezer Adebayo (born 8 January 1972) is a Nigerian lawyer, entrepreneur, public affairs analyst, politician, philanthropist, and founder of KAFTAN TV. He is a leading member of the steering committee of the National Consultative Front (NCF), providing a credible alternative to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the major opposition, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Adewole Adebayo is a 2023 Nigerian Presidential aspirant, under the auspices of the Third Force coalition.[1][2][3]

Background and Early Life[edit]

Prince Adewole Adebayo is a direct descendant of Osemawe Odunola, grandson of Osemawe Lamele, and direct descendant of Alaafin Onigbogi and Alaafin Sango of Oyo Ile and Elempe, Etsu of Nupe and Oba of Benin.

He was born on 8 January 1972, and raised in Ondo town, Ondo State. He attended St. Stephen Primary School, Ondo, between 1978 and 1983. After completing his Primary School, he proceeded to St. Joseph College, Ondo where he earned his Senior Secondary School Certificate. He bagged his law degree in 1997, from Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile Ife. In OAU, not only did he run a successful Law programme, but also participated in National activism as a Nigerian student.

He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2000 after completing and passing his bar exams from the Nigerian Law School, Lagos. He served the nation in the one-year compulsory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Kogi State, between 2001 and 2002.

Later, he attended law school in the United States of America, where he passed the New York Bar Exams. He is licensed to practice in California, New York, and federal courts in the United States.[3]

Adewole Adebayo also holds a Masters of Law, from the University of Jos, Jos, Plateau State.

Career and Businesses[edit]

Adewole Adebayo began his legal career as a litigation lawyer at Tunji Abayomi and Co in Lagos, Nigeria. Thereafter, he founded his own law firm, Adewole Adebayo & Co., House of Law, in 2002.

As the Principal Solicitor, he came into prominence as a leader in his professional field while also investing in the future of young people by employing Corps members who are Lawyers and teaching them. With seasoned lawyers as associates and partners, he has groomed many seasoned lawyers over the years.

His success in Nigeria's legal circles eventually took him to International limelight as many international business and conglomerates began to entrust him with the legal fate of their firms. A member of the international Bar Association, Adebayo later returned to School in the United States of America, completing the New York Bar Exams in flying colours. Today, his practice cuts across all the continents of the World.

Prince Adebayo is licensed in California, New York and Courts of the United States.[4][5] He has substantial law practice in UK, Europe, and Australia. He is a Fellow, Chartered Institute of Arbitration in Nigeria, Singapore and United Kingdom.

Adebayo is the Chairman, Blueprint Global Group, Washington DC. Board Adviser of US Black Chambers of Commerce. Board Adviser, National Black Chambers of Commerce, USA. He is also President and Board Chairman of several Corporations in the United States, Nigeria and East Africa.

A farmer and Chairman of Agbede Agric Projects. He is the Chairman of Sai Phytocemicals, producers of Sailin Drugs for the treatment of Sickle Cell Anaemia in India and Nigeria. As the Chairman of Africa Dialogue Mission (ADM), Adebayo was in 2006 appointed by the United Nations Organization and ECOWAS as Commissioner on the Truth and Reconciliation Commission in Liberia.

Prince Adebayo, is the founder of KAFTAN TV which is presently headquartered in Ondo with additional offices in Lagos, Abuja and Washington DC in the United States of America.

KAFTANTV broadcasts on StarTimes, Ben TV and Lyngsat. It has been able to reach a wider audience across more than 20 African Countries where StarTimes broadcasts, reaching an audience of over 6 million homes with news in business, politics, Sports, entertainment and global trends.

Having achieved this milestone, Adewole Adebayo decided to put the Local audience into consideration with the introduction of KAFTANTV Yoruba and KAFTANTV Hausa. Already, KAFTANTV News channel is available on Channel 480 on StarTimes Dish Platform and on Channel 124 DTT while DTH users have it on Channel 482. KAFTANTV launched its Hausa Channel on 8 November 2021. KAFTANTV Hausa Channel is also running nationwide on Channels 142 DTT and 414 DTH on StarTimes platform.

KAFTANTV has produced 1,036 Corps members in its three stations in Ondo, Lagos and Abuja. The Company has successfully retained 103 Corps members.

Philanthropy[edit]

Adebayo currently sponsors over 500 young Ondo Students in Nigeria tertiary institutions, in addition to numerous students from other town and States who he sponsors in School. In addition too, he has financially empowered hundreds of women in Ondo Kingdom. In recognition of his development efforts in Ondo Kingdom, he was unanimously adopted as the Chairman of the Ekimogun Festival for 2021.

Honours[edit]

Adewole Adebayo is a recipient of many awards. In March 2021, he was recognized by the Ondo State government as the indigene who pays the highest personal income tax to the Ondo State Government. In August 2001, he was recognized and honored with the "personality of the Year" award by the South West Advancement Group in recognition of his outstanding dedication, diligence, and prudent resource management.[6] In November 2021, he was bestowed with the Award of the Best Media Proprietor of the Year by the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ). On 18 November 2021, the National Youth Service Corps awareded KAFTANTV as the Best Corps Employers in Ondo zone.[7]

Presidential Ambition[edit]

In 2022, Prince Adewole Adebayo joined the race for the Nigerian presidency of 2023, receiving applause from many well-meaning Nigerians, including two former heads of state, Generals Ibrahim Babangida, and Abdulsalami Abubakar for joining the race.[8][9][10]
