Prince Inigo von Urach

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Prince Inigo von Urach, Duke of Urach and Prince of Wurttemberg (born on 12 April 1962), is the Head of the House of Urach in Lithuania as well as the current Pretender to the Throne of Lithuania. He is the grandson of Wilhelm, 2nd Duke of Urach.

Life[edit]

Prince Inigo von Urach was born in Bavaria to Prince Eberhard of Urach and Princess Iniga of Thurn and Taxis.[1] He has been recognised by some Lithuanian royalists, such as "Monarchistinis judėjimas - Lietuvos rojalistai tradicionalistai" as the rightful claimant.[2] Despite being the youngest of five children, Prince Inigo is the only one of three brothers alleged to comply with all the requirements to become King of Lithuania (House of Urach rules + Taryba rules): His wife, Baroness Danielle von und zu Bodman (b. 1963), belongs to a Uradel family whose nobility in Swabia has been authenticated back to 1152. The brothers have agreed that Wilhelm Albert would remain head of the House of Urach in Germany while Inigo would be head of the House in Lithuania.[3] He first visited Lithuania in 2009.[2]

Views[edit]

Prince Inigo von Urach claims to feel a duty to help Lithuanians.[4] He does so by popularising Lithuania in Germany, donating to Lithuanian charities and visiting Lithuania. Despite the claims of being able to speak Lithuanian, he often uses the services of a translator during interviews. In one of the interviews, he has claimed to be against nuclear energy.[2]
