Prince Pietro (born Pietro Bryan Nabhan Dias, 21 August 2008), also known as Pietro Bryan Al-Nabhan or Pietro ibn Paulo Al-Nabhan, is a Brazilian prince of the House of Al-Nabhan. He is a digital encyclopedist, media manager, instrumentist and student leader. He is the founder and executive director of Monarquia Wiki.[1]

He was born in Campo Grande, in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso do Sul. During his teenage years he started working with collaborative encyclopedias and MediaWiki projects. In December 2022, at the age of fourteen, he founded Monarquia Wiki. The project is a Portuguese-language encyclopedia about royal families, dynasties and monarchies.[2]

In 2025 he received attention from Brazilian media after receiving letters from Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace. The letters were replies to messages of support he had sent to King Charles III and Catherine, Princess of Wales, when they were receiving medical treatment.[3]

Prince Pietro belongs to the Brazilian branch of the Nabhan family. Family genealogists link this branch to the historic Nabhani dynasty that ruled parts of Oman in the Middle Ages and early modern period. The titles Prince of Al-Nabhan, Amir al-Umara and Sayyid are used by right of blood and dynastic tradition of the House of Al-Nabhan.[4]

Early life and family

Prince Pietro was born on 21 August 2008 in Campo Grande. He is the son of Paulo Cezar Freitas Dias and Linda Sandra Ribeiro Nabhan.[5]

His father served in the Brazilian Army. His mother belongs to the Nabhan family, which is established mainly in the Central-West region of Brazil.

He was baptised on 22 November 2008 at the Parish of Saint Joseph in Campo Grande. His godparents were his maternal uncle Paulo Sérgio Ribeiro Nabhan and his aunt Maria Aparecida Camoci.

Maternal ancestry

On his mother’s side he is connected to Paulo Nabhan (1923–1990), a Brazilian politician who was mayor of Corguinho four times. Paulo Nabhan was married to Maria Abadia Ribeiro Nabhan (1932–2011).

One of his maternal great-grandfathers was Neif Jorge Nabhan (born 1898), a Lebanese immigrant, farmer, landowner and justice of the peace. He was the son of Jahjah Nabhan (c. 1851–1909) and Chames Nabhan.

The Brazilian Nabhan family is linked by tradition to families from present-day Lebanon and Syria, and further to the historic House of Al-Nabhan (Banu Nabhan) that ruled parts of Oman between the 12th and 17th centuries.[6]

Paternal ancestry

On his father’s side he is the grandson of Waldomiro Moreira Dias and Neuza Freitas Dias (1935–2021). Family records connect the line to Plácido Moreira Dias, a captain who fought with the Maragatos in the Federalist Revolution of 1893–1895.

Education

He studied in public schools in Campo Grande. At the Escola Estadual Rui Barbosa he was president of the student union. Later he moved to the Escola Estadual Joaquim Murtinho.

From about the age of twelve he became interested in history, genealogy and royal families. These interests later became the centre of his work with Monarquia Wiki.

Digital encyclopedic work

Vikidia

In August 2022 he started working on Vikidia, an encyclopedia for children and young people. He helped with recent changes, article revision and stopping vandalism. In November 2022 he became an administrator.

Foundation of Monarquia Wiki

On 21 December 2022, at the age of fourteen, he founded Monarquia Wiki. The encyclopedia documents royal families, historical monarchies, dynasties, noble houses, orders of chivalry and succession questions.

As founder and executive director he organised the administration, editorial rules, visual identity and expansion of the project.

He also created the “Dynastic Neutrality Policy”. This policy is used especially for the dispute between the Vassouras and Petrópolis branches of the former Brazilian imperial family. Articles present the arguments of both sides without choosing a winner.

Public correspondence

In December 2024, at the age of sixteen, Prince Pietro sent messages of support to King Charles III and Catherine, Princess of Wales. In February 2025 he received replies from the offices of Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace. The story was reported by regional newspapers in Mato Grosso do Sul.[7]

Youth leadership

At school he was president of the student union. In March 2024 he joined the board of the Instituto Gerando Líderes as administrative director. In February 2025 he was appointed vice-president of the institute. He has also been linked to the Instituto Guatá Liderança.
