Prince Wayfinder is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Bill Mantlo and artist Ed Hannigan, the character first appeared in Marvel Preview #4 (January 1976).
Creation[edit]
In Marvel Preview #7 Mantlo discussed the character's creation
"I envisioned my hero as a young prince of a long-since earth-colonized planet thousands of millions of light years from their origin. I saw him as brash, a warrior born and bred, the son of a strong king. I drew again on Homer, and the son of the famous Ulysses, Telemachus, gradually became transformed into Prince Wayfinder of the planet Ithacon"[1]
Publication history[edit]
The character first appeared in the black-and-white magazine publication Marvel Preview #4 (Jan 1976). Wayfinder later appeared in Marvel preview #7 (June 1976) Mantlo later reintroduced the character in issues #31 and #38 of Micronauts (1979)
