Historical buildings[edit]

The gallery and office of Priveekollektie Contemporary Art | Design are based in the historic town of Heusden aan de Maas, located in the provence Noord-Brabant in The Netherlands. The buildings are listed as national monuments. Originally, the buildings contained 5 individual houses, dating from the 19th Century. The premises are named individually De Eikeboom (Pelsestraat 13), De Drie Koningen (Pelsestraat 15) and De Moriaen (Kerkstraatje 1).

De Eikeboom (The Oak Tree)

The address Pelsestraat 13 is currently in use by Priveekollektie Contemporary Art | Design as their gallery space for exhibitions. The house is named De Eikeboom and has a very old Mulberry tree in the back garden, which dates from the French revolution[23].

De Drie Koningen (The Three Kings)

The middle premises[24], Pelsestraat 15, are named after the three biblical wise men. It contains a house[25] under two parallel roofs, with empire facades at the front and back, each with a central entrance decorated by Ionian pilasters with a cornice including a toothed frame.

De Moriaen

The third building, Kerkstraatje 1, is called De Moriaen[26]. The building originally served as a coach house in the 19th Century[27] and is located right next to Heusden's Town Hall. The Town Hall was heavily bombarded[28] in 1944 during WO II, but the building at Kerkstraat 1 remained intact. It is currently serving as office for Priveekollektie Contemporary Art | Design.
