Early life[edit]
Priyom Haider grew up outside of Atlanta, Georgia and then moved to Los Angeles, California after graduating from University of Georgia with 2 bachelor's degrees in Finance and Film Production.[2]
Acting career[edit]
Priyom Haider is best known for his role on an episode of the television show Criminal Minds Beyond Borders co-starring with Gary Sinise and Daniel Henney[3], the multiple award winning feature film Dreams I Never Had[4] which is based on a true story about human trafficking, starring Malcolm McDowell and Robin Givens[5]; and the independent feature Hercules Unbound, where he plays Pronax, the trainer of Hercules[6]; as well as appearing alongside Ben Affleck in the feature film Argo[7], and recently appearing as a bodybuilder comedy segment on the Late Late show with James Corden[8]. He is also well known for appearing on multiple promotional posters throughout the Los Angeles and New York City areas for HBO's The Leftovers with Justin Theroux and Carrie Coon[9], as well as appearing as a masseuse along side Justina Machado in the TV show Jane the Virgin[10]
Priyom Haider studied under coaches Anthony Meindl, David Kagen, Tess Kirsch in Hollywood and is also a part of the SAG-AFTRA Conservatory. Early in his career, he produced and starred in his own comedy film, Relief[11], to create his eligibility for SAG-AFTRA. He produced a martial arts action comedy film called [1][12], and a film based on Grand Theft Auto 5 the successful video game, called Welcome to Los Santos-Los Angeles. He directed an a comedy called match.con[13] in which he has a cameo role and won an Award of Merit at Accolade competition[14]. He had a supporting role in the American Film Institute film Terp'[15], which inspired the Academy Award nominated short Day One in 2016. Two other feature films in which he had supporting roles were La Migra[16] and The Lone Road[17]. He was considered for Birth of the Dragon, the 2017 Bruce Lee film[18], and upcoming Disney's Aladdin[19]. In 2014 Priyom Haider appeared with Sofia Vergara in the TV show Chef[20]. In 2015 he had an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live as a Sherpa to promote the movie Everest along side Josh Brolin[21] and the MTV Video Music Awards's Epic Selfie Spot with Miley Cyrus[22] [23] . Other smaller, yet recognizable roles were in The Guest Book as a Porn Star with Jaime Pressley[24], Mario the doorman in Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23 with James Van Der Beek[25], as well as his upcoming films, include a supporting role in Compton's Finest[26], and as a boxer in City of Lies with Johnny Depp[27]
