ProBoard is a freeware bulletin board system (BBS) written for IBM PC-compatible computers running MS-DOS that gained popularity among hobbyist BBSes in the early to mid 1990s. It was originally written by Philippe Leybaert (Belgium) in Borland C++, optimized with assembly language, as a QuickBBS-style BBS.
Latest Information
Jason Bock purchased the rights and source code to the software on October 27, 2021. Many Y2K-compliant issues were fixed, including the JAM and Squish message base date issues as well as many cosmetic issues. Jason also implemented an anti-bot utility as well as methods to allow shelled-out Python scripts.[1]
ProBoard v2.30 is currently being developed and has been handed out to a team of Alpha testers.
