Production association

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Production association (P/A, PA) – was a goverment legal entity during the last decades of the Soviet Union. It was comprised of other companies such as factories, scientific research institutes, planning and construction or any other companies that are somehow buisness related with each other. A production association works on a socialist self-financing, self-reliant principle. Itself it was a legal entity, that was founded by the goverment while other companies who comprised it were not considered separate legal entities. A product association could be state owned, cooperation owned or a mix of both.

History

Production associations were first being founded in Lviv (Ukrainian SSR), later in Moscow, Leningrad. In 1976 these associations made 24% of all manufactured production within soviet union.
