ProductsExplainer is a product review website headquartered in Portland, OR which was launched in 2018. ProductsExplainer provides reviews for product categories like Appliances, computers, clothing, gaming, office, jewellery, furniture, musical instruments, garden tools, sports, and electronics. ProductsExplainer was founded in January 2018, and it is still growing.

The site gives lengthy explanations about the items that a person can find in local and online stores. The site has been popular among potential buyers who appreciate special buying help via email.

Evolution

With the arrival of e-commerce platforms like Shopify (founded in 2004) and BigCommerce (founded in 2009), many new e-commerce stores were built by web designers. In the middle of 2014, there were many complaints about online shopping scams. Some online stores stole credit card numbers, and some sites didn't ship the products after receiving payment. Because of this, most people preferred to buy from trusted online marketplaces like Amazon and Walmart. Then some sellers used to sell low-quality products on these sites. As a result, the number of product review websites increased.

In 2017, after proper research about buyer's guides and reviews, the ProductsExplainer team decided to start a website to help people make informed buying decisions. It is a combination of a blog and a website. The main problem the company faced was building a large review site without focusing on a specific niche. The company has a product testing team to check the quality of products in online stores. Firstly, they buy items from online marketplaces and test each item with various experiments. After that, they submit the report to content writers, who research the specific product. They compare the report with buyer feedback and other review sites. Then they write a complete review and a buying guide.

In April 2018, ProductsExplainer changed the whole writing format of the articles according to a survey done considering people’s opinions. It was about writing the content in point form versus writing in paragraphs. In May 2018, the company changed the site theme to improve the site’s speed. As it takes time to test products, the site has only 11 articles.

Social Media

ProductsExplainer is mainly active on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, and Reddit. As a growing site, it is not yet very popular on social media. But most of the site visitors come from Reddit. There is no specific official Reddit account, and the people who read the articles do all of the Reddit shares. The audience is built with people who are interested in online shopping, researching, fashion, technology, and e-commerce.

Website

It also uses the separate name "Products Explainer" instead of Productsexplainer. The site provides various articles, reviews, and buying guides grouped under a wide variety of categories. All of the articles are free for all countries, and anyone can contact the site and ask their product purchasing questions. If someone needs a buying guide for kitchen blenders or wants to know about a particular model, the ProductsExplainer team starts searching for the product details and informs the person who asked the question privately. This service is also free of charge.

In a complete review, authors always include more than 500 words for a specific product model and more than 5000 words for the whole article. Each review consists of 6-10 different product models. The article about best bitcoin mining hardware was the most popular one among all the articles.

HTTPS

HTTPS allows for malware protection, privacy, and integrity of information exchange. In January 2018, Productsexplainer website launched with HTTPS encryption. One of the reasons for HTTPS encryption is because Productsexplainer gets most of its traffic from countries like the USA, UK, Canada, Germany, Italy, and France.

Security

The website doesn't collect your personal details like emails, names, social media accounts, or any private information. According to the sucuri.net security report, Products Explainer has a low-security risk, the Site is not Blacklisted, and no malware was found. The site has not yet experienced any cyber attack.

Services

The site provides two primary services. The first is providing reviews and buying guides for targeted products. If a product has a wide price range of models, writers always separate it into relevant categories. The second service is providing personal assistance to make buying decisions. This service is for people who often make mistakes when buying goods online.

Team

Currently, the ProductsExplainer team has ten content writers and five product testers. More than that, some members help with logistics to receive the testing products quickly. Most of the content writers are from the United States. Founder, John Misard, supervises the team members about the working process.
