Project Reboot is an open-source custom Fortnite game server written in C++ for the Battle Royale mode created to play older versions of the game. It was initially open-sourced on August 15th of 2022 with the creator stating "I was bored" and "Tomorrow when I get home I rewrite whole project" in a Discord server.[lower-alpha 1] It was developed and created by Milxnor originally to be named Universal Walking Simulator to be a starting point for other developers wanting to make a Fortnite game server but it ended up being a functional game server.[1]

Development History[edit]

Project Reboot was originally named Universal Walking Simulator until it needed a new name as it was no longer just a universal walking simulator[1]. It was then renamed to Project Reboot with the name being inspired by the Reboot Vans that can be found in Fortnite. When the second version of Project Reboot was released it was given a new repository named Project-Reboot and got support for newer versions of the game. Upon the release of the 3rd version of Project Reboot a new repository named Project-Reboot-3.0 which added support for even newer versions of the game and console commands that could be run from clients specified by the hoster.[2]
