Proteintech is a privately held company based in Chicago, Illinois that manufactures and sells antibodies, immunoassays, growth factors, cytokines, nanobodies and other related reagents. With the largest proprietary portfolio of self-manufactured antibodies covering two-thirds of the human proteome.[1][2][3], the company's products cover various research area such as neuroscience[4][5][6][7], cancer[8][9][10][11], immunology[12][13][14][15], epigentetics[16][17][18] and others. These products can be found cited in notable scientific peer-reviewed journals such as Nature, Cell, Science and more.

Based on the recent Top Antibodies in Research: 100 most cited products, 2025[19] report by CiteAb, Proteintech is the fifth most ranked supplier with 5% products in the 100.

In addition to research-use only reagents, Proteintech's human cell-expressed cytokines and growth factors are GMP-compliant for use in clinical trials and commercial manufacturing after obtaining their ISO 13485 certification in June 2020[20]

History

Proteintech was founded in 2001 by a group of scientists, including current CEO, Dr. Jason Li, who was an Associate Professor of Immunology at the University of Illinois at Chicago during the company's foundation years.[2][21]
