Pueri Domus Bilingual School, most commonly referred to as Pueri Domus, is an international school in São Paulo, Brazil. The school opened in 1966, in a small schoolhouse on Avenida Brasil, and in 1973, the current campus was built on Rua Verbo Divino, in a terrain that used to belong to the Verbo Divino Seminar, located in Granja Julieta.
The school offers education from toddlers to high school, all offering international and bilingual teaching. The high school offers an International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma and a Brazilian diploma, in addition to the mandatory SACS-accredited American diploma. The majority of classes are taught in English, but the school does offer classes in Portuguese, French, and Spanish. The school has 150 classrooms, 3 science labs, an auditorium, an infirmary, 12 multisport courts, and two gyms. The library contains over 35,000 volumes. All these elements help prepare students for admission to some of the most competitive schools in the world and all graduates receive an American high school diploma.

Events
Services Fair
Aiming to help families organizing at the beginning of the school year, Pueri Domus gathers its various suppliers and partners at the campus for a Services Fair. Families have the opportunity to learn about and hire different services, from school transport and meals to the various courses offered in the After School program.
Family Day
A delightful gathering of students, families and the school community, with games, workshops, presentations and other activities aimed at integration among families. Family Day opens the annual calendar of events, a lively and relaxed way to start the school year.
Integration Olympics
The most anticipated sports event at Pueri Domus, the Integration Olympics involves students from Y6 to Y12, engaging the entire school in games, performances and plenty of cheering, in a true celebration of sport. Besides encouraging students to practice different Olympic sports, the event fosters integration among all students by providing an opportunity for socialization and exchange of experiences.
Festa Junina
The most cherished typical festivity in Brazil could not be missing on Pueri's calendar of events. School's Festa Junina is always very lively and impeccably produced, with lots of color, dance, music, games and good food! Each year the event is based on a different theme linked to Brazilian culture and people. The preparations are a learning opportunity for the students.
Feitek
Feitek is an event aimed at encouraging the reading of literature and expanding students’ experiences with languages. Each year a different theme is explored, always providing students with inspiring reflections. The preparations involve researching about authors and their works, producing assignments related to the theme and chatting with writers, culminating in a literary fair.
Cultural Station
A cultural and scientific event whose theme is usually linked to the UNESCO International Year. Students and teachers prepare presentations ranging from drama and music performances to inventions and experiments based on scientific concepts.
Thanksgiving
As an international school, Pueri Domus celebrates some important dates in the culture of English-speaking countries, such as Thanksgiving, a day in which people give thanks for the good events that occurred during the year. Students study the topic in class and then the whole school community and families get together to express their gratitude.
Transition Luau
To mark the important transition from Middle to High School, Y8 students take part in this beautiful luau-type ceremony. In a meaningful ritual, students note down on a piece of paper the bad things they want to leave behind and throw it into the fire; and on another piece of paper they record the good things they aspire for the future, keeping these notes in a chest that will only be opened at the end of High School.
Athlete's Day
Athlete’s Day is an exciting awards ceremony to celebrate students who stood out during the year in different sports. The result is always a surprise, as the winners are only announced at the last moment. At this event, the school presents to families the work developed with sports.
Projects
Always Learn Project
Created in 2004 by a group of High School students, the Always Learn project is a youth and adult education course in which classes are taught by students and alumni of Escola Bilíngue Pueri Domus. Besides the regular course, which enables them to sit examinations such as the National Examination for the Certification of Youth and Adults, participants can also take Language Arts classes.
T.E.T.O.
T.E.T.O. is an international NGO aimed at fighting and denouncing poverty. Among the organization’s several activities, the main initiative is the construction of emergency homes for families in situations of vulnerability. Pueri Domus has been working in partnership with TETO for almost a decade, with High School students volunteering to help with the building. With this work, young people experience an immersion in a reality that is very different from their own, reflecting on our society and gaining insight into the culture and lifestyle of the benefited population.
Social Entrepreneurship
Social Entrepreneurship is part of all Y8 student's curriculums. Offering dynamic classes based on experiences and challenges, the course aims to develop entrepreneurial skills and attitudes in students. Besides this entrepreneurial spirit, we delve deep into the concept of social entrepreneurship, in which students become active social agents in their community. By practicing social entrepreneurship, students have the opportunity to learn through action the values of respect for others, solidarity, commitment, concern for the environment and appreciation of human beings, among others.
Silver Eye
An integral part of the High School curriculum, the Silver Eye project is executed by Y10 students. Over the school year they engage in all stages of entrepreneurial academic research: researching, writing a theoretical framework, preparing business plans and building their projects, all based on chemistry, physics and biology concepts. At the end of the year, the best projects are awarded in different categories.
Eyeart
Created by High School students as part of the IB subject CAS, the Eyeart movement was born in 2019 as an exhibition aimed at engaging the community of Pueri Domus. It has been adapted to digital media, motivating and encouraging amateur artists through different means. Olharte receives works, ideas and projects submitted by all artists interested in taking part of the movement, and seeks to create a safe, diverse and transformative environment.
We Are All Immigrants
Launched in 2017, the project aims to encourage a comprehensive and respectful view of differences, raising awareness that we are all, regardless of nationality, part of the human race. Educational activities are organized to provide students with a deeper understanding of the subject of immigration and refugees worldwide. As part of the project, refugees and refugee families from various countries are invited to the school to share their experiences.
