Pushpa Kulanatha (si: පුෂ්පා කුලනාථ) is a Sri Lankan researcher in indigenous medical education.[1] [2] She received the Global Excellence Award from the Global MOOC and Online Education Alliance (GMOEA) for her contributions to technology-enhanced education.[3]
Her work includes research in indigenous medical education, with a particular focus on integrating digital learning approaches into traditional knowledge systems. She has also conducted action research on anxiety-driven learning and its impact on student engagement.[4] As Principal Architect of an educational innovation project, Kulanatha developed a framework combining Artificial Intelligence with Ayurveda medical education. The framework aims to structure complex Sanskrit, philosophical, and medical concepts into digital learning formats. It also addresses diverse learner needs, including categories of learners referenced in traditional texts as ‘Avara’ learners. The project has been featured on XuetangX, an international online learning platform with a large global user base.[1]
