Ariani Nisma Putri (born 31 December 2005), known professionally as Putri Ariani, is an Indonesian blind solo pop singer-songwriter. His name began to be known since participating in the 2014 Indonesia's Got Talent competition and won the position as the winner.
Early life and education[edit]
Putri was born with the name Ariani Nisma Putri on December 31, 2005, in Bangkinang, Kampar, Riau. He is the first of three children from the couple Ismawan Kurnianto of Javanese descent and Reni Alfianty, a native of Kampar Malay. Ariani is the first grandchild in her extended family. Putri has two younger sisters named Devina Elysia and Vania Larissa.
Putri was born prematurely at 6 months and 18 days of gestation because her mother had Placenta previa. After birth, Putri had to be in a baby incubator for 3 months at the hospital. Putri was then sentenced to have cataracts when she came out of the incubator. Then her parents took Putri for treatment to Singapore and it was stated that she had retinopathy of prematurity and had surgery for her right eye but to no avail. He was declared totally blind when he was 3 months old.
Putri studied music on her own without taking vocal lessons. She started singing on stage when she was seven years old. Putri admits that she often gets bullied because she has a different physique.
In 2021, Putri is pursuing high school education at SMK Negeri 2 Kasihan or what is known as the Yogyakarta Music Middle School (SMM) in Bantul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta. Putri took the specification of the Major Flute instrument. As for him, he was also asked to be a solo vocal performer at an SMM concert.

Putri started her career in the entertainment industry by participating in the second season of Indonesia's Got Talent which was broadcast on the SCTV television network in 2014. In the Result Show round which was broadcast live from Balai Sarbini on 19 July 2014, Putri performed the song "My Heart Will Go On" by Céline Dion. He managed to get the highest SMS voting acquisition and won the title. As the winner, he gets cash worth 500 million rupiah.
In 2016, Putri received an award in the Baiduri Award as a child singer with national achievements. Later in the same year, Putri won 2nd place at the FLS2N national literacy level, and was also eliminated in the Sing-off round on the second season of The Voice Kids Indonesia. Putri is skilled at playing the piano and composing several songs, she also often develops her work on her personal YouTube channel and created her debut album entitled Seeing With Heart.
When Indonesia was chosen to host the 2018 Asian Para Games, Putri had the opportunity to sing the song "Song of Victory" at the opening ceremony for the Asian Disabled Games, to encourage athletes with disabilities. Putri had intended to audition for America's Got Talent season 13 but received no response.
In March 2023, Putri collaborated with RonieAir who is also a member of the music group Fox in the South. They released a song called "Kidung Kelana". Previously, they also collaborated on the song "Destiny Ini", which will be released in 2022. Putri received an invitation to audition for the 18th season of America's Got Talent for the second week in the United States. At the audition, he performed his original song "Loneliness" for the first performance. Afterwards, Putri was visited by Simon Cowell and got the chance to sing "Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word" which was popularized by Elton John for her second appearance. At the end of his performance, he got a Golden buzzer from Cowell which automatically made him pass the audition.
