Qaseem Haider Qaseem (born Sayyed Qaseem Haider; 26 January 1987) is an Indian actor, lyricist, writer, and master of ceremonies known for his work in Hindi films, television, and independent music videos.[1] He began his career as a child anchor at religious functions and later transitioned into acting and songwriting, often drawing from his poetic influences.[1] Qaseem has appeared in music videos such as Sambhal Jao (2021) and Hhasrat (2025), and contributed lyrics to tracks like Bekarar Mahi (2020) and Tajjub Hai (2024).[1][2] He received the "New Popular Face Award" at the Star Eminence Awards (SEA) 2022 for his song Mere Saath Chalo.[3]

Early life

Qaseem Haider Qaseem was born on 26 January 1987 in Sasaram, Bihar, India.[1] At the age of six, his family relocated to Najibabad, Uttar Pradesh, near the Jogipura Dargah (Najaf-e-Hind), where he grew up immersed in a culturally rich environment influenced by religious and poetic traditions.[1] As a child, he began anchoring (nizamat) at local religious events, an experience that shaped his early interest in performance and writing.[1]

A pivotal moment came during one such event when a poet challenged him to recite original work, leading to embarrassment and inspiring him to pursue writing seriously.[1] He honed his skills in Urdu poetry and stagecraft before moving to Mumbai to chase opportunities in the entertainment industry, facing numerous rejections that he credits for building his resilience.[1]

Career

Television and early film work

Qaseem debuted on television as an actor in the DD National serial Kahin Der Na Ho Jaye.[1] He later worked as additional crew on the film Faqt 12 Taas (2019).[1] Over the years, Qaseem anchored more than 700 shows, blending his anchoring skills with acting aspirations.[1] He has appeared in films such as Hum Hain Sikandar, Pledge to Protect, and Hum Hai King, though these remain lesser-known independent projects.[4] In 2020, he joined the cast of director Sagar Joshi's thriller The Third Hacker as Inspector Junaid.[1]

Music videos and lyricism

Qaseem gained prominence in the independent music scene as both an actor and lyricist. His breakthrough came with the song Bekarar Mahi (2020), which he wrote and featured in, sung by Sabab Sabri.[1] This was followed by Sambhal Jao (2021), opposite Nandani Singh and trans actress Navya Singh.[1]

In 2022, he collaborated with Marathi actor Shreya Kulkarni on Mere Saath Chalo, earning the New Popular Face Award at SEA 2022.[3] Subsequent works include I Phone (2024) with Ritu Lakhina on B4U Music, Soniye (2024) with Xishmiya Brown, and Tajjub Hai (2024), where his poetic lyrics on modern relationships were highlighted.[5][6] His 2025 release Hhasrat, a collaboration with Bhojpuri actress Ayushi Tiwari, sung by Harmaan Nazim with music by Sahajahn Shaikh Sagar, explores themes of desire and emotion.[2][7] Qaseem's lyrics often blend Urdu poetry with contemporary themes, earning praise for emotional depth.[5]

Personal life

Qaseem resides in Mumbai and maintains an active presence on social media, where he shares updates on his poetic and musical endeavors.[1] He has spoken about overcoming early humiliations and rejections as key to his growth as an artist.[1]
