Qeios

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Qeios is a multidisciplinary Open Science platform that allows researchers to create, instantly post and openly peer review preprints and scholarly definitions.[1]

Initially launched in April 2019,[2] Qeios offers a web-based text editor to collaboratively write a preprint directly online or copy-and-paste it from a Microsoft Word document into a SEO-friendly, editable HTML format.[3] In September 2019, Qeios received the “Open Science Award for Excellence” from the Open Education Consortium.[4]

Qeios “has built a knowledge ecosystem that is quite unique” since it offers a simple way to write and post scholarly definitions and link them to terms used in research articles. This is supplemented by an open peer review system where researchers can review an article or share an article link and invite others to review it.[5]

Another distinctive trait of Qeios is that manuscripts can be posted as HTML preprints. In March 2020, the peer-reviewed scientific journal Addiction teamed up with Qeios because of the easiness with which one can peer review, comment and update preprints (while maintaining an archive of previous versions each with its own DOI), and because users can ensure that terms used in articles are linked to posted scholarly definitions, thus improving the clarity of scientific writing.[6]

Qeios is a Crossref and ORCID member and a signatory of DORA.[7][8][9]
