The Quality Business Analyst Institute (QBAI) is a Business Analysis certification board that operates internationally. He is an no profit organization made up of professionals working in the software engineering lifecycle with the mission of standardize the Business Analysis language. Founded in Milan in June 2020 by depositing the first certification standard, is legally registered in Italy.
QBAI decides the certification rules on functional analysis, and the reference standards for certification and accreditation as a QBAI Trainer provider Partner (Training) and is responsible for the drafting and maintenance of the Handbooks (Fundamental and Advanced) and certification exams .QBAI also implements and updates the Glossaries, with the aim of maintaining a standardized terminology for the world of functional analysis.
Learning Objective Levels[edit]
The QBAI Business Analysis certification program currently has three levels of certification:
- Fundamental Level
- Advanced Levels
- Master Levels
Pre-conditions[edit]
Pre-conditions relate to certification exams and provide a natural progression through the QBAI Scheme which helps people pick the right certificate and informs them about what they need to know.
The QBAI Core Fundamental is a pre-condition for any other certification.
Additional rules for QBAI pre-conditions are summarized in the following:
- Fundamental Core shall be required for Advanced Level Core;
- Fundamental Core is the default pre-requisite for Fundamental Level Specialist certifications unless differently stated in the specific module;
- Any Advanced Level Specialist or Master Level Specialist module which is linked to a lower level Specialist module shall require certification at the lower level;
- Master Level modules shall require certification at the corresponding Advanced Level;

QBAI provides a list of referenced books from some previous Handbook online.
Exams[edit]
The Fundamental and Advanced exams consist of multiple choice tests.
Certification is valid for life (Fundamental Level and Advanced Level), and there is no requirement for recertification.
QBAI Member boards are responsible for the quality and the auditing of the examination. Authorized exam providers are also able to offer exams including e-exams. The current list of exam provider you can fine on the dedicated page

The current QBAI Fundamental Level certification is based on the 2020 Handbook. The Fundamental Level qualification is suitable for anyone who needs to demonstrate practical knowledge of the fundamental concepts of Business Analyst including people in roles such as functional Analyst, test analysts, Requirement engineer, technical analyst, project managers, user acceptance testers and software developers.
It is also appropriate for individuals who need a basic understanding of Business Analysis including project managers, software development managers, Test Manager, IT directors and management consultants.
