Quantstamp is a Y Combinator-backed.[1] blockchain cybersecurity company which has created an open-source, decentralized automated smart contract security analyzer network deployed on the worldwide Ethereum blockchain.
QSP is a cryptocurrency token issued by Quantstamp on the Ethereum platform. It serves as a utility token used on the Quantstamp Security Network[2].
History
Quantstamp is a blockchain security company founded in 2017[3] by Richard Ma and Steven Stewart with a focus on Smart Contract security.
In Winter of 2017, Quantstamp entered Y Combinator, and it graduated in Spring of 2018 with a working MVP of the Quantstamp Security Network. In the wake of the ProxyOverflow smart contract bug, Quantstamp helped audit Binance’s tokens to ensure their exchange was safe[4].
In Summer of 2018, Quantstamp released the first version of the Quantstamp Security Network onto the Ethereum mainnet[5], and in Spring of 2019 they released the second version[2].
In March 2019, Quantstamp announced the launch of a subsidiary in Japan following a “significant” investment from Japan financial group Nomura Holdings and Tokyo-listed internet group Digital Garage[6]
In October 2019, Quantstamp, along with Fujitsu, Nomura Research Institute, LayerX, BlockGeeks, and National University of Singapore's School of Computing announced the founding council of the Smart Contract Security Alliance[7], a standards association for smart contract security.
Auditing Services
Besides developing the Quantstamp Security Network, Quantstamp also performs smart contract audits[8], which are examinations of a smart contract's code for security vulnerabilities.
Quantstamp’s notable audits include Kakao's Blockchain Platform Klaytn[9] as well as Binance’s GBP-backed stablecoin, Binance GBP[8]
Fundamentals of Smart Contract Security Book
In May of 2019, the Quantstamp team published Fundamentals of Smart Contract Security[10], a book dedicated to the subject of the security of blockchain applications.
