Quantum TV (stylized as QUANTUM TV) is an American YouTuber.

Controversy[edit]

In March of 2022, Quantum TV became the subject of a controversy involving two now-deleted review videos about the game Elden Ring, as the criticisms of the game in the videos were considered unjustified. British YouTuber Mischief made two videos responding to critical reviews. After the response videos were made, Quantum TV would use the YouTube copyright takedown tool to remove the videos responding to his review videos resulting in backlash against him.[1][2] Shortly after the backlash regarding abuse of the copyright takedown tool, users searched old posts from Quantum TV's alleged Facebook and Twitter accounts with posts promoting conspiracy theories regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and claims that the 2020 United States presidential election was rigged, as well as tweets saying "gay marriage needs to be shut down" and replying to "why weren't you a pulse victim", in a reference to the Pulse nightclub attack in 2016.[3][4] On April 10, 2022, American YouTuber The Act Man published a video titled "The Worst Elden Ring Hot Takes" which mentions Quantum TV's controversial Elden Ring review videos. The video was later taken down by a copyright claim from Quantum TV, according to a tweet by The Act Man.[5] In a YouTube video titled "Copyright Abuse on YouTube - Featuring Quantum TV", claimed that Quantum TV was committing perjury by allegedly abusing the takedown request tool, popularizing the controversy even more.[6] Later on, Quantum TV would later manage to contact The Act Man's mother and threatened to pursue a legal action against The Act Man's family and make threats as well in the call.[7]

On May 31, 2022, The Act Man tweeted that YouTube is not planning on taking action against Quantum TV. YouTube's decision to not terminate Quantum TV from the platform received criticism from many users and other YouTubers, citing the accusations against Quantum TV. He posted a now-deleted video "The Dark Age of YouTube - Quantum TV Found Innocent?!" regarding the feud between him and Quantum TV, and YouTube's response to the feud.[8] The Act Man would later lose YouTube monetization following a now-deleted satirical tweet about him doxing YouTube employees. Twitter users would start a hashtag "#JusticeForActMan" in a response to YouTube's decision to not terminate Quantum TV for alleged community guidelines and terms of service violations.[9]
