Quarry

Quarry, real name Vittorio Tolomeo, Italian born, bilingual in English and Italian, is a musician, singer-songwriter, and producer. He started playing drums and guitar on his own and has always been the main songwriter in the bands he has played with. He played in a few bands in Italy, the most notable of which was Noema, with whom he released the EP "La Danza" via the indie label Toast, and wrote the song "Aria", inspired from and dedicated to judge Giovanni Falcone, which served as the theme song for the popular Radio Rai Broadcast show "Demo". He then lived between London and Milan, touring Europe both solo and with the band he founded, Prizeday. Quarry released three critically acclaimed and well received albums, “Prize Day”, which lent its title to the future Quarry’s ensemble, Prizeday, “Super Arcade”, and “Positioning The Sun”. "Prize Day" was released on the Audio Fidelity/Morata Music label of former Island Records president Marshall Blonstein, and received a lot of airplay in several countries. “Super Arcade” was conceived and recorded in a warehouse filled with old pinball machines and arcade games, and was accompanied by two remarkable animated videos, including the one of the title track that was song of the day on Rolling Stone. “Positioning The Sun” was written during pandemic and released right after it. It's a kind of concept album filled with feelings of isolation, distance, separation. It has received great feedback, particularly in the United States, where college radio stations have given it a lot of airplay and heavy rotation. Following this album, Quarry released the EP "Renaissance”. It's a four-song collection that's both nostalgic and modern, fusing genres of the past with a contemporary indie rock sensibility. A notable piece of work was the single “Micro Plastic People”, in which Quarry explored the socio-environmental issue of microplastic pollution, also making a promo video where he invited people to post their videos singing the chorus of the track to take a stand against this issue. With the band Prizeday he released an album titled "Apps Will Grow Like Feathers" and toured across Europe, playing The Great Escape Festival and opening a number of Arthur Brown's concerts. “War Zone”, a short film they produced including the songs of the album, was showcased at Cannes Film Festival. He has had some of his songs featured in TV series like “Animal Kingdom”, “Top Gear”, “Special Forces - Ultimate Hell Week”, in Vans adverts and in the Italian movie “La mia ombra è tua”.
