Queen Naija (born 1995) is a social media personality and singer.
Biography[edit]
Queen Naija was born on October 17, 1995, in Detroit, Michigan. Her and her ex-husband Christopher Sails began getting popular when Facebook videos of them together went viral. They then started the YouTube channel Chris and Queen (later renamed to Chris Sails) on August 15, 2016. Naija started her own YouTube channel named Queen Naija on April 4, 2017, which has over three point one million subscribers.
Career[edit]
Naija competed on the eighth season of American Idol and made it to the Hollywood round. One of the most popular videos on her YouTube page is for her song "Medicine", for which she received recognition as one of YouTube's "Artists on the Rise". Upon release, "Medicine" charted at number three on Apple Music's R&B songs chart, and also reached the Billboard Hot 100. She also did a interview with Genius explaining the meaning of her song.[1]
On the Billboard Hot 100 dated July 14, 2018, Naija's song "Karma" debuted at number 63.[2] Her self-titled EP debuted at number 26 on the Billboard 200 dated August 11, 2018.[3]
