Queshonda Kudaisi
Queshonda J. Kudaisi (born 2 August 1992) is an American education researcher and assistant professor of mathematics education[1] at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. Kudaisi focuses on social justice in mathematics education with emphasis on developing preservice teachers, inservice teachers, and teacher educators knowledge needed to teach mathematics for social justice.[2] She also focuses on the STEM identity development of minoritized learners within informal STEM learning environments. She is the founder the educational non-profit, Narrow Path Outreach. She is the author of seven journal articles.
Education and training[edit]
Kudaisi received a Bachelor of Science degree from Southeastern University in 2014.[citation needed] Upon graduation, Kudaisi pursued her career as a middle and high school math teacher at the Sonrise Christian School in Lakeland, Florida. Kudaisi completed her Master of Arts from the University of South Florida in 2016.[citation needed] She completed the master's program while teaching secondary mathematics and then continued her teaching career in Polk County Public Schools in Lakeland, Florida. She completed her PhD in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Mathematics Education and a Leadership cognate from the University of South Florida in 2021. Kudaisi's dissertation work focused on how preservice and inservice teachers learned to teach mathematics for social justice within a secondary mathematics methods course.[3] She also received a qualitative research graduate certificate alongside her studies.
Career[edit]
In 2022, Kudaisi began her career as an Assistant Professor of Mathematics Education at the University of North Texas in the College of Education with the Department of Teacher Education and Administration.[1]
In 2022, she was awarded the Service, Teaching & Research Fellowship from the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators,[4] an early career induction program for faculty in mathematics education with tenure track appointments in institutions of higher education.[5]

Kudaisi was featured on ABC Action News in 2021 for her victory battle over COVID-19 and pneumonia, while pregnant, and earning her PhD.[8] Kudaisi was discharged from the hospital on August 11, 2021 and on the same night walked across the stage as she was bestowed the Doctor of Philosophy in Curriculum & Instruction.
