Quickshot Joyball
The Quickshot Joyball is a joystick controller designed for a number of gaming consoles, including the Commodore 64, Atari computer line, the Sega Master System and the Nintendo Entertainment System. The controller was manufactured by Bondwell and originally marketed by its subsidiary Spectravideo. The joystick is often confused with a trackball due to the similar shape, however, its design is not a complete sphere, but a large dome attached to a switching mechanism that slides forward, backward, left, and right. The Quickshot can be changed from right to left-hand use via a slider switch on the side of the unit.
The Joyball was originally released as the Quickshot IX, featuring a light tan case and dark gray controls. A later release, the Quickshot XVI, featured a dark gray case and bright red controls matching the color scheme of Bondwell's later Quickshot products.
