RECOM (Renewable Energy Company) is a manufacturer of photovoltaic (PV) solar modules/solar cells and developer of Photovoltaic power stations. It is headquartered in Lannion, France.

Since establishment, RECOM made sales in 85 countries and developed over 1GW projects worldwide, mainly in Europe. Recently, RECOM is also strengthening its presence in the US.[1][2].

Not only RECOM has its own production facilities in France and Italy but also provides products from overseas OEM. RECOM is expected to expand its production capacity by investing in the production facility of solar modules in Belarus[3] and South Korea[4].

History[edit]

Founded in 2007, RECOM targeted the Greek market after the development of solar power in Greece started in 2006 and installations of photovoltaic systems skyrocketed from 2009 due to the appealing feed-in tariffs and the corresponding regulations for domestic applications of rooftop solar PV.

At the beginning of 2015, RECOM began Photovoltaic power station development project for Independent Power Producers (IPP) around the world. RECOM's strategy is to evaluate potential projects at the NTP stage followed by acquisition, construction and financing.

Later in 2015, RECOM ITALIA was established after acquiring the solar cell factory from Xgroup located in Padova, Italy.

In 2017, RECOM established RECOM SILLIA, after purchasing solar module manufacturer SILLIA VL which was one of the main actors in the French PV market. [5]

Soon after the commercial operation, RECOM SILLIA was awarded in 2018 with "Top PV Brand" seal by EuPD Research[6], Europe’s leading sustainability research firm based in Germany.

RECOM became the only European solar manufacturer named on Bloomberg New Energy Finance(BNEF) 2019 4Q Tier 1 list. BNEF tiering criteria is measures the bankability of the products by accessing the solar companies‘ self-manufactured modules and their use in multitude of non-recourse bank-financed utility scale solar projects over a two year period.

RECOM SILLIA[edit]

RECOM SILLIA is the Europe's largest photovoltaic (PV) solar module manufacturing company located in Lannion, France. RECOM SILLIA's facilities were upgraded in 2019 which increased the total annual capacity from 50MW to 300MW and also secured low cost, high efficiency production system and lower carbon footprint.

Operation[edit]

RECOM offers from RECOM SILLIA and from overseas OEM in both polycrystalline and monocrystalline photovoltaic modules including high efficient half-cut and bifacial modules. The company also offers 1,500 volt utility-scale modules. Cells produced in RECOM ITALIA are used for internal production use.
