Sooraj Velath Veettil (born 11th January 1990) popularly known by his stage name RJ Sooraj,[1] is radio jockey, event host, social media influencer, and entrepreneur from Kannur, Kerala.After working as an RJ for Radio Malayalam 98.6 FM , Sooraj is currently collaborating independently through multiple social media platforms. He is also in film industry & a film distributer across the Middle East.Sooraj is prominent social media influencer, entertainer and business promoter in the Middle East based in Qatar.

Sooraj[1] was born to Janardhanan K J & Radhamani; both are teachers by profession ,in the Kannur district[2] of Kerala. He has brother namely Sayooj V V.
He did his schooling in Kannur. Sooraj graduated from University of Kannur[3] in BSc Electronics. He has Master’s Degree in Electronics from Bharathiar University[4]. He worked as an Assistant professor in College of Applied Science Pattuvam[5] for a year.

Sooraj[1] started his career as an RJ in Asianet Best FM in 2013 and later joined Radio Mango where he attained much appreciation as a radio presenter in the first place.In 2014 Sooraj moved to Saudi Arabia where he worked in many job roles including as a restaurant staff, cabling technician for a living.He entrapped in a fraudulent job offer and struggled without the job that was offered.Such a demanding situation compelled him to network through social media to become an event-host, thinking that which may give an extra income.He received first anchoring opportunity where the renowned Malayalam poet Murukan Kattakada was present at.Impressed by Sooraj's appealing compering skills, Murukan Kattakkada endorsed him to many other people who shares similar interest.The event was a breakthrough in his career and Sooraj received several opportunities afterwards as an event host and entertainer.He became a popular event-host among Kerala expatriate community and was slowly building a career in the same.
Meanwhile he was offered Marketing Executive job in a manpower resourcing firm.In 2015 Sooraj moved to Qatar as part of his job as a Marketing Executive shouldering the responsibility of extending the operation of manpower resourcing company .He was in search of showcasing himself as an presenter and entertainer.Sooraj gained attention of Indian community through social media.He slowly started appearing in many events as host in Qatar also.He has conducted over 450 stage programs in Qatar at that time.Meanwhile he became a popular social media figure by commenting on several socio political issues. Sooraj’s video about GCC blockade went viral which portrayed the normalcy in life in Qatar during the time.The video helped to create awareness about the resilience and unity of Qatari community in the time of distress
Sooraj was the first social media influencer who introduced the trend of bringing in commercial organizations like restaurants & coffee shops through social media in Qatar which other vloggers are following now a days.He is the promoter of over 250 brands, both local and international.
When Radio Malayalam 98.6 was started in 2017, Sooraj was offered the role of radio jockey.He became a full time RJ & entertainer by quitting the job and gained wide popularity.
His entry to television was through Boeing Boeing, a celebrity game show which was broadcasted in Zee Keralam.Sooraj was also a contestant of Asianet- BigBoss Malayalam season 2.
Sooraj currently collaborating with Truth Global Films ,which carry out overseas distribution of films.Truth Global Films was able to preview Bheeshmaparvam in the Dubai Expo 2020 which was first of its kind for a Malayalam movie in which Sooraj played a vital role to pioneer such a venture. CBI 5 was the second Malayalam movie-trailer being exhibited on the Burjh Khalifa and the campaign was lead by Sooraj.
He also appears is in an upcoming Malayalam movie,My name is Azhakan.

Sooraj[1] married Akshaya G Ashok in 2018.Akshaya is partnering in vlogging with Soora[1]j across social media platforms. She is an acclaimed quiz proctor of International Quizzing Association.
