RS Mensae
RS Mensae is a possible foreground giant, red supergiant or red hypergiant. If placed in our solar system, its photosphere could possibly engulf the orbit of Uranus, with a size of nearly 5,000 solar radii. If this value is correct, it is the largest star currently known, but since it is considered a foreground object, its size is possibly much less, since its brightness and luminosity will be considerably diminished.[1] Since this star's size could possibly be unreliable, it is not listed on the List of largest stars.
