Rachel Ashley Redleaf or Rachel Redleaf (born October 3, 1996) is an American actress, singer, director, and comedian.[1][2] She is known for her role as Beth Chapin in Netflix Original Series Atypical[1][3][4][5] and as Mama Cass[6][7] in Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.[3][5][8][9] Redleaf also appeared in Why Women Kill season 2 on CBS[10] and in the movie Kajillionaire streaming on HBO max.[11][12]
Early Life[edit]
Redleaf grew up in Scottsdale, Arizona.[3] She performed at Scottsdale's Desert Stages Theatre, Greasepaint Theater in Scottsdale, and Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre in Mesa.[3]
She attended Horizon High School in Arizona, where she did the competitive show choir.[3]
Career[edit]
Redleaf's first role as an actor was in a local production of The Wizard of Oz at age 4.[4][10]
In 2017, during her sophomore year at Chapman University, Redleaf got her first professional role as Beth Chapin on Netflix's Atypical. Since then, she has appeared in all the next seasons of Atypical as a series regular.[3][10]
In 2019, Redleaf was cast as Mama Cass in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, a Quentin Tarantino film starring Margot Robbie, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Brad Pitt.[13] The film received 10 Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture.[3][8][14]
In 2020, she played a supporting role as Kelli, a pregnant woman in the award-winning Sundance film, Kajillionaire with Gina Rodriguez, Evan Rachel Wood, and Richard Jenkins,[3][15] and a recurring role as Young Alma on Why Women Kill, as the younger version of the Allison Tolman in 2021.[6][10]
Redleaf is a founding board member and volunteer for Kid in the Corner Foundation. She is represented by A3, managed by Andy Coleman at Link Entertainment, and is a member of SAG.[11]
In addition, Redleaf performed and hosted an event for Broadway Sings for Pride in New York benefiting the Trevor Foundation.[15] Redleaf made an appearance at Mateo Simon's Annual Charity Halloween Event in Burbank, California (2018);[16] Charlie And The Chocolate Factory's Los Angeles opening night at the Pantages Theatre (2019);[17] Mateo Simon's Annual Teen Line Charity Halloween Bash in California (2019);[18] and Valley Fright Nights VIP Night (2022).[19]
