Rachel Sweeney (born 1984/5) is a British television reporter for GB News. She is their North East regional reporter.
She went to Framwellgate School Durham before studying broadcast journalism for three years in Cheltenham.[1] She spent her 20s living in Newcastle's Quayside.[2]
Sweeney presented early morning news reports for ITV Tyne Tees for 13 years[3][4] and presented the North East headlines for Good Morning Britain for nine years before she worked for GB News in 2021.[5]
Sweeney is daughter to comedienne and broadcaster Sue Sweeney.
