Raddle is a social news aggregation, content rating, and discussion website oriented to anarchists and libertarian leftists alike.

Details[edit]

The site has similar features to Reddit, where registered users submit content to the site such as links, text posts, images, and videos, which are then voted up or down by other members. Submissions are organized by subject into user-created boards called "forums". Posts with more upvotes appear towards the top of their forum and, if they receive enough upvotes, ultimately on the site's front page.[1]

Raddle was created by ziq in December 2016 as a response to Reddit's banning of the subreddit r/LeftWithSharpEdge the same month, as well as the perceived lack of action against right-wingers and strict moderation of left-wing communities. It was originally started as a WordPress site, but it was soon replaced with a link aggregator software newly written in PHP called Postmill by emma.[1]

Notes[edit]

  1. The site's display interface is available in several common languages, but most of its user-submitted content is written in English with no built-in translation feature.
  2. Raddle can be viewed without an account but registration is required to submit, comment, vote, or create a forum.
