Rafay Rashdi

Rafay Akbar Rashdi (born 16 January 1982) is a Pakistani filmmaker, film director, screenwriter, producer and music producer and a politician. He is the son of acclaimed TV and Radio personality Mahtab Akbar Rashdi.

Rashdi made his debut as a director and producer in Pakistani feature film Thora Jee Le.

Rashdi also contested for general elections for candidacy for the Member of The Parliament Of The Provincial Assembly Sindh through Pakistan Muslim League Functional in the years 2008, 2013 and 2018.

Working as a managing partner for HUMTV's production house Moomal Entertainment, Rashdi went on to producer 12 Television serials namely O RungReza, Woh Ek Pal, Dildaarian, Parchayee, Mein Maan Nahin Banna Chati, Zun Mureed, Teri Meri Kahani, Band Tau Bajega, Breakup Ke Baad, Baandi.

Rafay Rashdi was born in Hyderabad, Pakistan. His father Akbar Rashdi is a retired bureaucrat and mother Mahtab Akbar Rashdi is a renowned radio and TV personality. Rashdi has done his bachelors in Business Technology Management from Ryerson University, Toronto, Canada and Masters from City, University of London, in Business System Analysis and Design.

He is also a part-time music producer, and has numerous releases on his label imprint Rashdi Records. Recently, he announced his solo production house Rafay Rashdi Productions under which he'll be producing television serials and his second feature film announced earlier this year titled "Yaqeen"
