Raffles College of Design and Commerce

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Raffles College of Design is a design school based in Sydney, Australia. It is affiliated with the Raffles Design Institute in Singapore and delivers specialised Bachelor's degrees in design and arts. It was founded in 1978 and was located in North Sydney until moving to Parramatta at the beginning of 2015.[1] In 2004 it was acquired by the Raffles Education Corporation from Singapore and adopted the name of 'Raffles KvB Institute' until a rebranding to the current name in August 2007. The college delivered courses in Sydney as well as internationally through its network of associate colleges.[2]

Loss of Accreditation[edit]

In March 2016, Raffles College lost accreditation for its postgraduate and business programs in accountancy and commerce.[3] Accreditation of its remaining two bachelor degree programs (i.e. Bachelor of Arts (Visual Communication) and Bachelor of Design) was pending renewal as of September 2018, but this is now moot as the school is closing down.[4]

On 26 November 2018, Raffles College applied to withdraw registration as an Australian higher education provider. [5]

In the media[edit]

Graduates of Raffles College have been seen showcasing their work in local exhibitions[6] and events such as the 2018 Australian Fashion Week.[7][8]
