Raghavan Vidya
Raghavan Vidya is a British Indian oncoplastic breast surgeon and clinical academic. Early life and education
Vidya received her medical degree (MBBS) from Stanley Medical College, University of Madras in 1990 and subsequently completed Masters in General Surgery (MS. She moved to the United Kingdom for further surgical training and completed an MD (Research) at the University of Edinburgh, researching aromatase inhibitors in breast cancer RCS";Royal College of Surgeons of England, "Raghavan Vidya".
Career
She holds several senior leadership and academic roles, including:
- Honorary Secretary and Trustee, Association of Breast Surgery (ABS), appointed November 2025.[1]
- International Lead Royal College of Surgeons (RCS) International Surgical Training Programme for Breast Surgery.[2]
- Associate Director of Genomics, West Midlands Genomic Medicine Service Alliance (GMSA), where she leads projects on familial risk assessment.[3]
- Founder, The Virtual Global Breast Hub, a platform supporting international surgical collaboration and training in breast care.[3]
Research and surgical innovation

She developed a clinical grading system for implant rippling, a recognised side effect of pre-pectoral reconstruction.[4]
