Rail Route is a management & tycoon game based on train dispatching. It's about controlling the traffic, building railroads and setting up the routes for trains. It is set to be released into Early-Access in June 23rd, 2021.[1]
Gameplay[edit]
There are currently two game modes in Rail Route:
- Endless Maps
- Timetable Maps
Endless Maps[edit]
Players can build their railroad from the scratch and progress through various unlocks to expand all over the map. Various unlocks in the System Upgrades are helping the player to reach their goals in this sandbox experience.
This are the main tasks in these maps: Control, Build, Expand
- Accepting different kind of contracts as a traffic on the railroad
- Operating trains according their timetables
- Expanding the rail network, building new components and buildings
- Earning rewards – money & experience points
- Unlocking upgrades – improving technologies and interface
- Automating – building various sensors and automating the operations
Timetable Maps[edit]
Scored maps with predefined timetable.
- Dynamic scoring system
- Hand-made timetables – famous and imaginary junctions / layouts
- The goal is reaching the high score
Development[edit]
The debut game of the two-person Czech studio Bitrich.info[2]. The game development started in March 2018 in a small team of two developers[3]. The game design has been inspired by real Signalling control and simulators[4]. The first prototype has been released to the public in April 2018[5]. The game had featured several alpha-previews on Itch.io[6] before releasing to Steam in Early Access.
