Raj Kakra is a Punjabi songwriter, singer and actor from the village of Kakra, part of the district of Sangrur, in Punjab, India.[1] He is best known for his performances in Punjabi movies such as Babal Da Vehra (2008), Kaum De Heere[2] (2014), Patta Patta Singhan Da Vairi[3][4] (2015) and Dharam Yudh Morcha (2016).[5][6] He started his recording career with "Giddhe wich Gulabo Nachdi" and came to Chandigarh in 1999. He has written many romantic Punjabi songs, such as "Dildaariyan, Dilbar, Tu Juda, Mirza", "Mehboob" and "Punn Khat Lai"[7][8] He writes and sings about many of the social issues of Punjab.[9][10][11]
