Rajath Ravishankar (born 28 November 1989), is an Indian film director, screenwriter, lyricist who predominantly works in Tamil cinema. His debut film Dev starred Karthi, Rakul Preet Singh, Prakash raj, Ramya Krishnan on lead roles released on February 14, 2019.

Early life and education[edit]

Rajath was born to Tamil parents settled in Bangalore. Raised in Bangalore until his teenage, he went on to study mechanical engineering but his determination to become a film maker made him quit his course and study film making from a prestigious film school in Kolkata.

Career[edit]

Right after graduating from the film institute in 2009, he went to Mumbai to intern with a few film makers but with his passion for Tamil cinema, he changed his mind and relocated to Chennai in 2011.

In Chennai he has assisted prominent filmmakers Mani Ratnam and R. Kannan.

After working as an associate director for close to 10 years in 2018, he started his debut film “Dev” starring Karthi, Rakul Preet Singh, Prakash Raj, Ramya Krishnan on lead roles released which later released on February 14, 2019.
