H.H Rajadhiraj Shrimant Dattajirao Gharge-Desai (Deshmukh) I'timad-al-daula, Shikke-i-Bahaur was the 25th Raja of Princely state of Nimsod of British Raj during the reign (1930 - 1964),[1] He signed the Accession to the Indian Union on 21 March wjich ended the separate existance of Nimsod State[2]

Early Life[edit]

Raje Dattajirao was born on 16 June 1912 in Shirol town (also known as second capital of State).After death of his father H.H Rajadhiraj Shrimant Raje Balvantrao he become the 25th rajasaheb of Nimsod State he married to Radhabai Saheb (first wife) daughter of Shrimant Sardar Mankoji Bhosale of Hergav and Anusayaraje Saheb (second wife) daughter of Srimant Sardar Krishnarao Jagdale of Shirol Estate, and issued total 5 sons.

He was well known for his moneylending all across Maharashtra. He held huge amounts to other Maratha Princely state and Zamindar. He always took a keen intrest in the administration of his State and has introduced many reforms. He also promoted English and Other languages all across the state.He died year 1964.[3]
