Rajiv Gandhi Cricket Stadium is a cricket stadium in the campus of Pondicherry University, Pondicherry. The stadium is Pondicherry's first Ranji level stadium with a capacity of 1,000 people. The ground is owned and managed by Pondicherry University. It is also home for Pondicherry Cricket Association who are future members of BCCI, however it is affiliated to Tamil Nadu Cricket Association as a District Association.[1][2][3]
The ground was inaugurated by Indian National Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi in 2010 on his visit to Puducherry University. The ground is part of Pondicherry University Sports Complexm which has a stadium with capacity 800 and as well as tennis courts, volley ball courts and basket ball courts.
The ground has hosted few university level matches but let to make his first-class cricket debut.[4]
