Rajkumar Kalal (born 8 August 1990) is an Indian chef who is popular for pastry cake making. He was born in Udaipur, Rajasthan.
Early life
Rajkumar Kalal was born into a middle-class family in Udaipur, Rajasthan (India) with a small business holder father and a homemaker mother, with one elder and one younger sibling. His childhood was a mixture of good and bad. While at school, he had a mindset to pursue a government job. But there was some responsibility towards his family. So, after Higher Secondary education, he decided to pursue a diploma in food production from the Food Craft Institute Udaipur, Rajasthan. After his diploma, he completed his internship at Taj Lake Palace Hotel, Udaipur. He was inspired by chef Ravi Rai and started his career in pastry and bakery.
Professional life
He worked in India from 2010 to 2013 with luxurious hotel brands like Taj and Mahindra. In 2013, he moved to Abu Dhabi, UAE. Now he is based in Abu Dhabi, working as an executive pastry chef with Cioccolato, a French concept café and restaurant, Abu Dhabi. After gathering several years of experience, he started his restaurant in partnership with his friend (The Masala Darbar), a multi-cuisine restaurant in 2020. He plans to start a high-end café and restaurant with some creative and unique concepts in India and offer chef consultancy work. His dream is to have a good café and restaurant brand in the market.
