Ram Vilash Singh was the first MLA from Barhara (Bhojpur)- Bihar, constituency. In 1962 he contested for Member of Legislative Assembly ( Ramraj Parishad Party) and won the election. Again in 1972 he contested from Barhara Constituency with Indian National Congress and was elected MLA for the second time.
He was one of the top criminal lawyer of his era. He even was three terms Chairman of Ara, Arrah Municipal Corporation.
