Ramakant Maharaj (July 8, 1941 - August 31, 2018) was an Indian guru of nondualism and disciple of Nisargadatta Maharaj, a renowned spiritual teacher who taught the path of Advaita Vedanta. Born in Bombay, India, Ramakant Maharaj attracted seekers from around the world with his profound teachings.

Ramakant Maharaj's teachings were rooted in the nondual philosophy of Advaita Vedanta and emphasized the importance of self-inquiry as a means of attaining spiritual realization He was known for his direct and uncompromising style of teaching, which placed significant emphasis on rigorous self-inquiry and the surrender of the ego.[1]
Career[edit]
In 1962, Ramakant Maharaj was introduced to his future guru, Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj, by his relatives. After spending a few months with the Master, he received the Naam Mantra, the Guru Mantra, on October 2nd, 1962.Nisargadatta Maharaj#Disciples From that point forward, he faithfully attended and regularly listened to Nisargadatta Maharaj's discourses. He was present when his Master took Mahasamadhi on September 8th, 1981.
At the request of Nisargadatta Maharaj, Ramakant Maharaj enrolled at the renowned Elphinstone College in 1965. Subsequently, he graduated from Bombay University in 1972 with an M.A. in History and Politics. In 1976, he earned his LLB degree from Siddhartha Law College, Bombay.
At his late life Ramakant Maharaj resided at Ranjit Ashram in Nashik, Maharashtra. At the ashram, he shared his teachings with students, disciples, and devotees from around the world, occasionally initiating them into the Inchegiri Navnath Sampradaya Lineage.

His spiritual teachings were compiled during his lifetime into several books, including "Selfless Self: Talks with Shri Ramakant Maharaj"[2] and "Be With You: Thoughtless Reality".[3] These books serve as valuable resources for seekers on the path of self-realization, offering profound insights and guidance.

Ramakant Maharaj's teachings had a significant impact on numerous seekers, guiding them towards the realization of their true nature and spiritual liberation. His teachings were compared to those of his Guru, Nisargadatta Maharaj, as well as other prominent Advaita Vedanta teachers like Ramana Maharshi and Adi Shankaracharya.
