Randall Scerbo Truitner is an American costume designer, documentarian, television producer and entrepreneur.
Biography[edit]
Scerbo Truitner started her career as a stylist and costume designer for film and television, working on shows such as Welcome to Hollywood and HBO First Look.[1] Her independent film work includes Sunstorm and Teleios[2].
As a documentarian she directed and produced Inshallah: Diary of an Afghan Woman, which was filmed on location in Pakistan and Taliban-controlled Afghanistan (Pre-September 11 attacks). Executive produced by Jonathan Stack, the documentary follows Suraya Sadeed, the daughter of the former mayor of Kabul, who has returned to her native country as a philanthropist and human rights activist to build medical clinics for women and shelter for the dispossessed.[3] Inshallah: Diary of an Afghan Woman was acquired by Oprah Winfrey's Oxygen (TV channel).[4] [5]
Since making Inshallah: Diary of an Afghan Woman she has mentored other documentarians, including Jennifer Davidson and Chantal Molnar in the making of The Milky Way. [6]
As producer she worked on the Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants, and also produced for Extra (TV program).
In 2012 she co-founded RANDIAN with Ian Truitner,[7][8] presenting the technology to Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge at the Variety Venture Capital and New Media Summit[9].
