Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval is an Indian film director and screenwriter who predominantly works in the Malayalam film industry, commonly referred to as Mollywood. He is known for the movies Android Kunjappan Version 5.25 (2019), Nna Thaan Case Kodu (2022) and Sureshanteyum Sumalathayudeyum Hridayahariyaya Pranayakatha (2024).

Career
Poduval made his directorial and writing debut with Android Kunjappan Version 5.25 in 2019. The film garnered critical acclaim and emerged as one of the highest-grossing Malayalam films of the year, and won three Kerala State Film Awards, including Best Debut Director.[1] Following its success, he wrote and directed Kanakam Kaamini Kalaham (2021), a comedy-drama starring Nivin Pauly,[2] which premiered on Disney+ Hotstar. The film received mixed reviews from critics.[3][4]
In 2022, he wrote and directed the socio-political drama Nna Thaan Case Kodu starring Kunchako Boban, which received positive reviews from critics and achieved commercial success.[5][6] His screenplay Madanolsavam (2023) was directed by Sudheesh Gopinath, starring Suraj Venjaramood, which received positive critical reception.[7] and received praise for its humour [8][9]
In March 2023, Poduval said he would be writing a screenplay for director Martin Prakkat and starring Kunchako Boban and Biju Menon.[10] He has announced a sequel to Android Kunjappan Version 5.25, with Poduval returning to direct and write.[11]
