Ratheesh Raghunandan is a Malayalam screenwriter and film director. He made his directorial debut in Malayalam cinema with Udal which was released in 2022.[1] He directed Thankamani which was released in 2024.[2][3]
Personal life
Ratheesh was born in Pathanapuram of Kollam district.[4]
Early life
Ratheesh entered the art field through a program named Citizen Journalist organized by Amrita TV in 2007.[5] Later, he entered the film industry after working in MediaOne, Reporter TV and as a radio jockey in Radio Asia based in Dubai.[6]
Film career
Ratheesh has worked as Director & Screenplay Writer in several films, and has directed several box office hit films including Udal and Thankamani.[7]
Udal
Udal was one of the Malayalam thriller films that was presented in a very different style.[8] Dhyan Sreenivasan, Durga Krishna and Indrans played the lead roles in the film.[9]
Thankamani
'Thankamani: The Bleeding Village' is a 2024 crime thriller film directed and written by Ratheesh, based on the 1986 Thankamani incident that rocked politics[10][2].
