Ratnakar Mavilach[1], also known as Ratnakar Upadhayay, is an Indian entrepreneur and innovator who gained recognition for his contributions to the development of Hinglishgram, the world’s first content delivery platform.

Early life[2][edit]

Ratnakar was born on November 27, 1996, in Siddharthnagar, Uttar Pradesh, India, to a lower-middle-class Brahmin family. His father's name is Vijay Kumar Upadhayay, and his mother's name is Manorma. He has one elder brother named Prabhakar Upadhayay and two younger twin brothers named Akhil and Arun Upadhayay. Ratnakar received his early education in Lucknow and completed his intermediate education before enrolling in a B.Com degree program at National PG College, Lucknow. However, due to his passion for work, he dropped out of college in his second year.

Career[edit]

After completing his education, Mavilach began his career as a lawyer, but he soon realized that he had an entrepreneurial spirit. He founded the company Hinglishgram, which aimed to provide a platform for users to access content in both English and Hindi. The platform became an instant hit, and Mavilach gained recognition as an innovator.

In addition to Hinglishgram, Mavilach has also launched Debonair Magazine, a popular men’s lifestyle magazine that had been out of publication for several years. His other ventures include Mavilach Run Media, a media company that provides creative development, media buying, and planning services.

Mavilach is also known for his motivational speeches and has given talks on entrepreneurship and leadership to students and young professionals.

Apart from his successful business ventures, Mavilach has also made a name for himself in the Indian film industry. He has worked as an editor for Debonair Magazine and has produced videos for Bollywood Hungama. He has also acted in several Bollywood films, including Mulk (2018)[3], Why Cheat India (2019)[4], Daawat‑e‑Ishq (2014)[5], and Kaashi in Search of Ganga (2018)[6].

Personal Life[edit]

Ratnakar is married to Ar Neha Mavilach, whom he met in 2017. They got married in 2020, and in 2023, they welcomed their son, Manvik Mavilach.

Mavilach Group[edit]

Mavilach founded Mavilach Group with his wife Ar Neha Mavilach. Under Mavilach Group, they started Run Media, which provides media planning, buying, and creative development services to businesses. They started another version of Run Media as Digivanced in New York with famous writer and singer Jimmy Cozier[7].

Awards and Honors[edit]

Ratnakar's contributions to the business world have been recognized through several awards and honors, including India's Most Promising Entrepreneur Award (2019), and National Entrepreneurship Award (2018).
