Ravi Arasu is an Indian film director who has worked in Tamil language films. He was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.[1]

Early Life

Ravi Arasu was born on 1 January 1980 in Chennai, situated in Tamil Nadu.[citation needed] He is an Indian film director who has worked predominantly in the Tamil movie industry.

Career

Ravi Arasu was a former associate director of Vetrimaaran.[2] In 2011, he began work on his first film with actor Arulnithi and S. S. Thaman composed the songs, but the film was shelved.[3] As a result, his debut venture was the 2015 sports action film Eetti, starring Atharvaa and Sri Divya. The film received generally average reviews upon its release.[4] His next project was Ayngaran with G. V. Prakash Kumar in his second directorial venture.[5] The film was postponed multiple times. In 2022, Ayngaran was finally released in theatres on 5 May 2022, but was postponed to 12 May 2022 due to a lack of adequate screens.[6][7] The film received mixed reviews.[8] In 2020, Ravi Arasu made his debut in Kannada film with Shiva Rajkumar and titled RDX and produced by Sathya Jyothi Films, but Shiva Rajkumar has since proceeded with his other projects and it is uncertain whether RDX will happen or not.[9] On 5 November 2020, Ravi Arasu decided to make another film with Vishal, but the film was shelved due to Vishal's busy schedule.[10]
