Ray Bentley was an American pastor and author. In 1984, he founded Maranatha Chapel in San Diego California, a non-denominational church affiliated with the Calvary Chapel movement.[1] In addition to serving as the senior pastor at Maranatha Chapel, Bentley authored several books including "The Holy Land Key" which addresses prophecy and the Middle East from an evangelical Christian perspective. Bentley led multiple tours to Israel and described himself as working closely with Jews, Christians, and Muslims through his NGO, the Nehemiah Fund.[2]

Bentley's teachings often integrated aspects of Jewish religious customs and holidays with Christian messages, promoting a syncretic approach often used by Messianic Judaism.[3]

Bentley died of complications of COVID-19 on January 4, 2022 at the age of sixty-four.[4]
