Ray Billings, also known as "The King of Kinetic Energy,"[1][2] is a skilled bot builder[3] and is the team captain and builder for BattleBots team Hardcore Robotics. He has funded Hardcore Robotics and is responsible for building several bots, including the successful, infamous robot Tombstone.

Combat Robotics
Ray has competed in combat robotics for over 20 years[4]. He has been on BattleBots since season 2 of the original Comedy Central show and has returned on the ABC/Discovery re-introduction of the show. On the show, he was the villain character until he passed that role onto Jake Ewart of Team Whyachi. Ray has helped his stepson Tyler Nguyen to achieve his dream of competing in combat robotics with the robot "Perfect Phoenix," which he helped Tyler to rebuild after purchasing the robot from Battlebots champion Paul Ventimiglia. Ray Billings was awarded the giant nut as Battlebots world champion in 2016[11] and the giant bolt award also [12]

Quotes
Ray says: "YOU WANT MORE?!" when he has another robot on the ropes. It is a combination taunt and offer of possible mercy should the opponent give up.
