Ray Peat was an American biologist known for his work in the field of bioenergetics. He had a Ph.D. in biology from the University of Oregon, and specialized in physiology[1]. His work focused primarily on metabolism, hormones, and nutrition. He argued that progesterone and pregnenolone are "youth hormones"[2], that play a protective role in the bodies response to stress, while estrogen acts as a stress hormone[3]
