Ray Power
Ray Power is a professional football coach. He currently works as the Academy Manager of Irish Premier League club, Waterford FC.[1] [2]He is one of a small group of coaches to achieve the UEFA A Licence with the English FA before the age of 30.[3]
Prior to his move to Ireland, Ray was the Technical Director / Academy Manager for Sunderland AFC in Tanzania which became a feature on Sky Sports[4] [5] and was a Coach Educator for the English Football Association. He has also worked in conjunction with major national sports bodies, including the NBA.[6]
In 2014, Power's first book, Making the Ball Roll, was published by publishing company, Bennion Kearny.[7] The book deals with coaching methodology related to football. Other published books include Soccer Tactics 2014 and the four-book Deliberate Soccer Practice series.[8] [9]He is also well known for his expertise in sport psychology[10], teaching and tactical training[11] [12]
Ray spent a further 10 years working at various Elite English professional clubs including a partnership with professional club Notts County and non-league, Basford United FC [13] .[14]
